The management of Penglipuran Tourism Village in Bangli Regency stated that domestic tourists dominated the tourist arrivals to the location during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr long holiday.

The Head of Penglipuran Tourism Village, I Wayan Sumiarsa, stated in Denpasar on Monday that there was a significant spike from March 20-22, 2026, during the long holiday, which coincided with Nyepi Day and Eid al-Fitr.

Tourist visits to the tourist location on Friday (March 20) reached 2,644 people. Meanwhile, on Saturday (March 21), they reached 4,111 people and on Sunday (March 22), they reached 4,387 people.

The surge in the last two days, he said, was dominated by domestic tourists, reaching more than 3,000 people per day.

“Domestic tourists predominantly come from Surabaya, Jakarta, Bekasi, and Bandung,” Sumiarsa said.

From March 1 to 22, 2026, the total number of tourist visits to Penglipuran Village reached 23,811 people. The number of visitors comprised 5,098 foreign tourists and 18,713 domestic tourists, with an average daily visitation of 1,082.

He continued, explaining that domestic tourists significantly dominate the total number of visits, accounting for approximately 78.6 percent of total visits. Meanwhile, foreign tourists only accounted for around 21.4 percent.

Sumiarsa explained that to enhance the experience of visiting Penglipuran Village, the management is holding cultural performances themed around nature and humanity.

“During this long holiday, we have a cultural performance in the Bamboo Forest entitled Macan Gading, with the theme of harmony between humans and nature,” he said.
